TAHITI VA'A COACHING
It doesn't matter if you're an experienced, an intermediate or a complete beginner in paddling because we have the ability to provide specific individual coachings or group clinics suited to your level of experience.
All attendees must be over 10 years-old and must know how to swim.
Our services include the supply of equipments such as canoes (V1, OC1, V3, V6), paddles (double-bent and straight steering shafts) and PFD's.
For groups over 6 paddlers, the use of a motorboat is mandatory for insurance purposes.
Speaking of insurance, we advise any paddler visiting Tahiti to apply for an Individual Travel Insurance covering for Medical Evacuation and Repatriation.
We would like to inform all international paddlers willing to compete in a local event that this type of insurance is required by the Tahitian Federation of Va'a.
The other things required by our Federation is:
- A valid membership (your OCC must be affiliated to the IVF)
- A Certificate of Liability Insurance provided by your OCC
- A medical clearance letter for the practice of outrigger paddling
- A medical clearance letter following an EKG test results only for paddlers over 44 years-old
Our staff and coaches are all paddlers, club presidents and Va'a Experts.
All coaches hold a BPPES (Brevet Professionnel Polynesien d'Educateur Sportif) mention va'a, the highest Tahitian Paddling Certification in French Polynesian that can only be isued by the Tahitian Government.
They are also experienced paddlers both locally and internationally.
All lessons are only focused on the Tahitian style of paddling - as many out there like to call 'Tahtian stroke' - and are exclusively delivered in English.
Some simple instructions can also be provided in Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese.
